Hi. I had both tweeters for my CDM1SE reconditioned and the result is excellent. I can’t tell if they sound like new or better, since they’re 18 years old and the units must have underperformed for quite some time before I sent them across the Atlantic. Most importantly, though, the speakers now have about the same sonic characteristics as they used to, which was my main concern. Cheers guys 🙂

tweeter or electronic unit inside of box ?
Could you tell Me in case I can replace it by Mi self.
    Thank you very much

Do you mean DM602? Which series do you have? B&W repairs can be tricky. Completing repairs on your own will depend on your skill level, the version of the speaker and whether you are replacing the whole tweeter or just the diaphragm in the tweeter. It will be better if you email us at info@speakerex.com for more answers.

Can you please guide me how to remove the bass unit of B&W 803 D ?. The unit does not come out even after removing the screws.

If you are local, bring the speakers to us and we will do it for you. If not, and if we are discussing the woofers (and not the mid which has a drawbar holding it in place) then there is nothing other than screws keeping them in the cabinet. There could be a back gasket or seal that has formed a seal that is holding the woofers in place. If so, you can cover the tips of a needle nose plier and use them to grasp the ridge on the outside of the woofers to help you remove it. If that is not successful then go through the screw hole and try to gently pry the speaker out. If that doesn’t work then cover a flat head screw driver in cloth and use it to GENTLY pry the woofers up. It is easy to damage the cabinet so cover your tools with cloth and be very careful. I hope that helps.

Hi my tweeter on the B&W 805S isn’t working. I’ve removed it and looking for the replacement. Do you know where I can buy it?

    • Cathy Satin March 11, 2018 at 7:07 am #

Yes we can repair it for you. If we have the tweeter housing we can replace the inner tweeter. You can bring the entire cabinet to us for repair as well.

Unfortunately I’m in Singapore so it’s not possible for me to get it to you. Possible to ship it over?

I’m sorry but no. We must have the tweeter here so we can modify and customize and complete the repair.

I have a B&W CM1 (top part of a matrix 900) with a tweeter that needs its voice coil replaced. As the OLD CM1 parts are not available, I’ve purchased aftermarket voice coil with titanium cap. The unit was working until the voice coil leads broke (it had been taking on a “fuzzy” sound at certain frequencies). What glue should I use to mount the diaphragm to the housing that holds it above the magnet. The housing was glued to the magnet as well as being held in place by 4 screws to the speaker face. What glue should I use there?

I’m looking for the tweeter that slides into the housing on the top on a matrix htm no. 1754 center channel. looks very simple to install myself if I could get some direction on where to order it from. Thank you

Hello I have a ZZ6408 that needs repair / it rattles when turned up and when you gently push down it sounds like it rubbing . Would it be cheaper to replace or repair ? Thanks

    • Cathy Satin August 19, 2021 at 11:04 am #

We should be able to repair for you. This woofer is no longer available. It has been obsolete for years. I believe repair is your only option. We would have to see what the problem is to quote a repair charge, but I do not think we will have any problem repairing this for you.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I think the cost of shipping and repair will exceed the value of the speakers. Is there an email address where I can send a photo of the damaged part?
